Poppy Bath Puppet Toy!

How many of you have some Troll loving kids?! We do!! I don’t think any movie trailor has ever made us laugh quite as much as this did, and the music in the film was just plain awesome! This Poppy Bath Puppet was the very first puppet I ever made!! And it has lead to many many more. This puppet was specifically made with cotton yarn for the bath, and has been enjoyed immensely here.

Each ear is worked up exactly the same, so to get the same look on both side, I just turned one of them inside out. Once sewn on, you can hardly tell!

Ch 16
Row 1: sc across in each ch; 15 sts
Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.
Sew across the head, just at the hairline.Headband Flowers (3) Blueberry
ALL worked inside a magic ring: (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st back into magic ring) 3x
Sew 1 in the center of the headband, and other 2 to the sides.

Lastly (optional), I attached hot pink yarn to the back of the top of her hair, with a sl st, ch 4, attach again with sl st a few sts over, and sew in the ends. This will give you a nice hook to hang her up in the shower!

All ready for bath time!

  1. I am trying to make the ears for the poppy bath puppet and after making the ring it says to do 6 sc in the ring and then 2 sc in the next two stitches. this is where I get confused if I just did 6 sc in the ring where are the other stitches to do 2 sc? I may not be asking that correctly but do I close the ring and then do 2 sc in the beginning of the 6 sc I just did? and continue on around? I tried that and the ears are too small.
No matter how many times I try it doesn’t come out right or large enough for ears as shown on the one in the picture.
    Ears (2) Rose Pink

Hi! The ears are worked in rounds, so Rnd 1 is the 6 sc in the magic ring. Rnd 2 picks up back at the beginning of Rnd 1. Maybe I am misunderstanding your question, but it looks like you might be reading the ‘2’ from ‘Rnd 2:’ as “2 sc in next 2 sts. It is actually only 1 sc in each of the next 2 ts. Rnd 2 reads, “sc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 2 sts (these are increases with hdc instead of sc), sc in next 2 sts; 8 sts. So, of the 6 sts in rnd 1, you are only increasing in the middle 2 sts for rnd 2.
I hope that is helpful! But please let me know if I am not fully understanding your question. Thanks!

  2. Ok so I close the ring and start round two with a sc in the next two stitches from the previous row. than increase, Ok that makes sense now. thank you.
